Use this excel tool to download and create a family budget.
In an environment of rising interest rates and cost of living, it is important as a family to understand where your money is going each month. This tool will help you set goals and project the cash flow for the next 12 months.
Some tips on how to use the tool.
- Complete the cover page with your current financial snapshot and your financial goals (save for a deposit, pay off a credit card, pay down your HECS debt, save for a holiday etc)
- Tab two the goal tracker, input your income and expenses. Try to align the expenses per month to give an accurate snapshot of upcoming inflows and expenses.
- This will give a monthly, six month and yearly snap shot of your cashflow position.
- Once you have reviewed, see where you can make adjustments to your income and expense line items.
